A 14-YEAR-OLD girl admitted today to stabbing three people at a school in south-west Wales but denied attempted murder.

Two teachers, Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, and a pupil were injured in the attack at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, in April.

The teenager, who cannot be named because of her age, pleaded guilty to three counts of wounding with intent and to being in possession of a bladed article on school premises.

She spoke only to confirm her name and enter her pleas at Swansea Crown Court, looking at the ground as the judge spoke.

The girl, who was 13 at the time, is to stand trial after denying three counts of attempted murder.

She will remain in secure youth detention accommodation until her trial, which is due to start on September 30.

The court heard that the attack on April 24 had been captured on CCTV.

Pupils were kept in lockdown for four hours as police examined the scene.
