FMQs overshadowed by poll showing Labour’s vote slumping

FIRST Minister’s questions were overshadowed today by an ITV opinion poll showing Labour’s vote slumping in Wales.

Plaid Cymru’s Rhun ap Iorwerth questioned Baroness Eluned Morgan’s supposed dressing down of Welsh Labour MPs last week and her latest speech proclaiming a red Welsh way.

”Rhodri Morgan tried to put 'clear red water' between himself and Tony Blair, but I know that he never actually said those words,” Mr ap Iorwerth said.

“But isn’t the difference between her and Rhodri Morgan is that he meant it but never said it, whilst she did say it, but no-one believes she means it at all.”

The FM responded: “I will stand up for Wales on every occasion, when I see injustice, like on rail funding, land that the Crown Estate is not giving us enough in Wales.

“But, the difference between us is that we can sit in a room, we can argue this out, and we can deliver.”
