Farage challenged by campaigners over £5 million ‘gift’
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage speaks to supporters at Chelmsford City Racecourse, Essex, following the 2026 local election results, May 8, 2026

REFORM UK leader Nigel Farage was challenged by a campaigner today over his financial ties to crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne.

As Mr Farage left Milbank Tower, a Resist Reform activist questioned him on why he had taken so much money from “a crypto loser.”

Mr Farage recently received a personal gift of £5 million from Mr Harborne, which he failed to declare, and is now facing an investigation.

Two-thirds of Reform UK’s overall funding comes from Mr Harborne, who has donated more than £22m to the party.

The action followed disruptions earlier in the week, including an intervention at Richard Tice MP’s keynote interview at the Utility Week Forum in Birmingham, alongside fake subversive adverts and projections.

Sam Simons, from Resist Reform, said: “People are desperate for change and Reform are offering it, but it’s a con.

“You don’t take £22m from a crypto billionaire and then stand up for the NHS and ordinary people.

“Farage and his cronies aren’t fighting the system. They are the system, and they’ll sell us down the river to prove it.”
