FAMILIES of the victims of the 1971 McGurk’s Bar Massacre in which 15 people, including two children, were killed have complained to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman over the case.
The British state has been accused of refusing to investigate despite being presented with evidence of collusion between the British Army and the Royal Ulster Constabulary to run a smear campaign blaming the victims for the bombing.
Campaigner Ciaran MacAirt said that it is the first complaint of its kind regarding a Troubles legacy case involving the British Cabinet Office.
