GREECE: News programmes, papers and news websites were all hit yesterday when the Athens Journalists Union called a 24-hour strike to protest against the feared closure of a media employees’ healthcare fund.
No news programmes were broadcast, websites didn’t renew news content and morning newspapers won’t appear today.
The union wants aid from the government and media companies to help keep the fund afloat.
