CLIMATE change and environmental degradation is adding an extra £233.49 to yearly bills for families in England, a new analysis found today.

Research by Green Alliance estimates that the reported £1.2 billion in weather-related insurance payouts in 2024 has added £42.25 to the average home insurance bill.

While water bills rise by an average of £30 per year, the group estimates that a third of this — £10.74 — is linked to climate change and pollution.
