Climate activists protest BP's ditching of green commitments

CLIMATE activists gathered outside BP’s London HQ in St James’s Square on Wednesday evening to protest the oil giant’s ditching of green commitments and expansion of oil and gas.
Protesters held a banner reading: “Big Oil is Killing Us” and chanted “Who kills? BP kills” in response to the firm’s recent announcement that it would slash $5 billion (£3.9bn) in low-carbon investment while increasing its 2030 oil and gas target to 2.4 million barrels per day.
BP’s CEO Murray Auchincloss said the decision demonstrated the corporation’s “unwavering focus” on boosting shareholder profit.
