Britain accused of doing nothing in the face of Trump plans to destroy Palestinian community
President Donald Trump speaks at the 2025 House Republican Members Conference Dinner at Trump National Doral Miami in Doral, Fla., January 27, 2025

BRITAIN and other Nato members have been accused of doing nothing in the face of Donald Trump’s plans to destroy the Palestinian community in Gaza, in collaboration with Israel.

Young Communist League general secretary Georgina Andrews told the Communist Party’s political committee on Tuesday evening that the US president and his new friends in the West have dropped any fig-leaf commitment to a two-state Israel-Palestine solution.

Instead, they favour a policy of ethnic cleansing in Gaza and “cleaning up” the territory for Israeli settlers and US construction companies,” the committee was told.

“Confronted with the indiscriminate mass murder of more than 50,000 Palestinians, the destruction of whole towns and cities in Gaza, and a resurgence of Israeli state and settler terrorism on the West Bank, all Prime Minister Keir Starmer can do is hide behind Israel’s formal right to self-defence,” said Ms Andrews.

“Even when necessary, self-defence does not justify genocide.”

Britain’s communists also condemned Mr Trump’s threat to use economic and military force to seize the Panama Canal and Greenland.
