POSTAL workers called yesterday for immediate discussions with Parcelforce Worldwide to solve problems over working routes.
Delegates at the Communication Workers Union conference in Bournemouth warned existing agreements between the union and Parcelforce are in a “state of disrepair.”
They voted in favour of opening new negotiations with the Royal Mail subsidiary to balance routes more evenly.
Delegate Graham Caird said: “Currently, management within Parcelforce are using an unagreed tool to measure our drivers’ productivity on a daily basis.
“Drivers are being singled out, rather than us all working collectively as a depot.
“We think that a single tool to balance out our agreements daily has to be agreed upon and we hope the union considers this.”
Scotland and Northern Ireland regional parcels delegate John Mehan added: “I’m aware a degree of progress has been made already on this.
“The currently agreed agreement of carrying agreements within our depots has been cumbersome and has fallen into a state of disrepair.”
