Only double-digit NHS pay rises will end national strikes across the service, Unite warns
Ambulance workers on the picket line outside London Ambulance Service NHS Trust control room in Waterloo, London

ONLY double-digit NHS pay rises from “lying” Tory ministers will end national strikes across the austerity-hit health service, Unite the union warned yesterday.

General secretary Sharon Graham also urged Labour to show “real leadership” by stating what the party would offer underpaid and overstretched key workers if it were in power.

The calls came ahead of further ambulance walkouts by members of Unite, Unison and GMB across England and Wales today.
