NURSES have topped a new poll as the UK’s most trusted professionals — while politicians are at the bottom.

Nurses’ union the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) commissioned the independent poll as its 300,000 members prepare for the first strike action in the college’s 106-year history.

The Ipsos poll asked participants “if you generally trust them to tell the truth, or not?” with a list of professions.
