University and College Union members protest outside the University of Winchester [Winchester UCU]

STAFF at the University of Winchester protested today over threats from bosses to axe up to 15 positions and shut down courses.

The University and College Union (UCU) said the demo at the Hampshire institution’s campus came as senior management attempt to cut jobs as a precursor to slashing courses across several faculties.

These include the humanities, social sciences, business, digital technologies, education and the creative arts, it claimed.
