Amazon gorging on public contracts – but paying 'incredibly little' in tax, union warns

AMAZON have been treating the British people like “mugs” after receiving nearly £660 million in government contracts and paying incredibly little in taxes, the GMB said yesterday.
A report released by the union show that since 2015 the controversial multinational corporation has been awarded 36 public-sector contracts worth the whopping figure.
The company received £11m for web-hosting services from HMRC in 2018 despite paying only £1.7m on profits of £72m declared through its subsidiary, Amazon UK Services, in 2017.
