Isis hit hard as Russia halves its tanker fleet
Air strikes will cut revenue from smuggled oil

RUSSIAN heavy bombers blitzed Islamic State (Isis) forces in Syria yesterday after destroying half of the terrorist army’s tanker lorry fleet in recent days.

Deputy chief of staff General Andrei Kartapolov said Tu-160 White Swan, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 bombers hit Isis targets for the third day running.

On the ground, Syrian troops advanced on Isis-held Al-Bab, north of Kweires air base in Aleppo province, and nearby Dayr Hafir, which is on the road to Raqqa, the Isis stronghold.
