Labour Party: Rahman-backing Shawcroft returns
A LEFT-WING member of Labour’s national executive has been reinstated after her suspension for supporting former Tower Hamlets mayor Lutfur Rahman.
The party launched action against Christine Shawcroft on May 11 in response to her outspoken support for Mr Rahman, who had been banned from holding public office after being found guilty of corruption and illegal practices two weeks earlier.
But a Labour spokesman confirmed yesterday that she would face no disciplinary action as a result of a party investigation.
