BOLIVIA’S Organisation of American States (OAS) representative Diego Pary Rodriguez accused the OAS bureaucracy yesterday of carrying out an “institutional coup.”
The Washington-based regional organisation pressed ahead with an extraordinary meeting on Venezuela despite objections from Bolivia, which had just taken up the rotating presidency, and Haiti, which had assumed the vice-presidency.
Having taken up the OAS reins, Bolivia cancelled a meeting called for Monday to discuss the situation in Venezuela.
