ARSENAL boss Jonas Eidevall believes Vivianne Miedema has a “good chance” of being involved in their Women’s Super League clash against Manchester United today.
The two sides will meet at a sold-out Ashburton Grove at lunchtime and Eidevall revealed that Miedema could be involved after missing their last two games with a knee irritation.
He said: “She’s training today, we haven’t had training yet so we need to see that. She has a good chance.”
Arsenal face a tough test against United, a team who they have not beaten in their last four WSL meetings, and Eidevall believes his side have a “clear mindset” of what they need to do.
“The next game is never the same as the last one, that’s one thing you need to learn as a coach and as a team,” he said.
“We’ve had some tough games against United but I think we’re on a clear mindset of what we need to do on Saturday in order to bring the performance needed to win the game and it’s up to us to do it now.”
The Gunners are four points above United in third, but a win would see United begin to close in on the Champions League places and head coach Marc Skinner hopes his team can “get under the skin” of Arsenal.
“Even at this moment the points that are between us and Chelsea are great and they don’t lose many games,” Skinner said.
“On historical data probably that’s going to be very difficult, but what we have to do is perform against Arsenal.
“I think we’re unbeaten in four against Arsenal and we need to be a team to get under the skin of Arsenal, I have no doubt about that.
“I think it’s one of those factors that we have to try and win the game and that’s what we’re going to try and do.”
