MEN’S FOOTBALL: Buckie Thistle are Highland League champions after they beat Keith 1-0 on the last day of the season to take the title on goal difference from Brechin City, who won 2-1 at Brora Rangers.

Buckie had missed out on the last two championships due to last-day slip-ups. They will face Lowland League champions East Kilbride for a chance to gain promotion into the Scottish League.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Leinster’s lead in the United Rugby Championship is down to just one point after they were hammered 44-12 by the Lions in Johannesburg and second-placed Glasgow beat the Sharks 21-10.

Munster moved third with a 27-22 comeback win at the Bulls on Saturday, Benetton downed the Dragons 36-19, Connacht thrashed basement club Zebre 54-16, Edinburgh brushed aside Scarlets 43-18 and Ospreys won 27-21 at the Stormers.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Linfield host Larne at Windsor Park this evening for a de facto Irish Premiership title decider.

With just two games to go table-topping reigning champions Larne lead Linfield by three points and a vastly superior goal difference.

Third-placed Cliftonville beat Glentoran 2-0 on Saturday, Crusaders won by the same score at Coleraine, Ballymena thumped bottom club Newry 4-0, Carrick edged Loughall 2-1 and Dungannon saw off Glenavon 2-0.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Catalans Dragons scored seven tries to overwhelm Hull KR 36-6 and maintain their two point lead in the Super League.

St Helens are second on points difference after thrashing Hull FC 58-0 but third-placed Wigan, 36-14 winners over Castleford, have a game in hand.

Warrington came from behind to squeeze past Leigh 16-14, in-form Huddersfield won 30-24 at Leeds and London remain winless after losing 12-4 at home to Salford.
