Police fined after losing disks full of case files

HUMBERSIDE Police was fined £130,000 yesterday for losing disks containing a video interview with an alleged rape victim.

A bundle of sensitive information, including the alleged victim's name, date of birth and signature, as well as the suspect's name and address, was left in an envelope on an officer's desk.

It is unknown if the package – which was due to be posted to another force – was actually sent and the disks are still missing.
