MEN’S FOOTBALL: Stranraer scored twice in extra time to edge out East Kilbride 3-1, 5-3 on aggregate, in their promotion/relegation play-off final and retained their place in the Scottish Football League. Saturday’s other play-off action north of the border saw Kevin O’Hara score twice as Hamilton won 3-2 at Inverness Caledonian Thistle to seal animmediate return to the Scottish Championship after a year in League One.

NETBALL: Elmere van der Berg missed just one shot to net 41 goals as Manchester battled to a 62-52 win over Saracens to stay top of the Super League, three points clear of Loughborough, who brushed Cardiff aside 68-47. London Pulse won 63-45 at bottom of the table Strathclyde Sirens, Leeds beat Team Bath 65-50 and the Severn Stars sealed their play-off place with a comfortable 69-42 win at Surrey Storm.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Defending champions Leinster lost 23-21 at Ulster and slipped to third as the United Rugby Championship’s regular season ended. Munster finished top after beating Edinburgh 29-26 with Pretoria’s Bulls as runners-up. Glasgow lost heavily 44-21 at the Lions, Cardiff won 36-14 at Durban’s Sharks, Ospreys beat the Dragons 26-13, Stormers edged to a 16-12 win in Connacht and Scarlets won 32-18 at bottom-club Zebre.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Bayer Leverkusen beat Augsburg 2-1 to become the first team in German Bundesliga history to complete an unbeaten season. They finished 17 points clear of second-placed Stuttgart after Bayern Munich, without Harry Kane, let a two-goal lead slip in a 4-2 loss at Hoffenheim. Leverkusen’s hunt for a treble sees them face Atalanta in Wednesday’s Europa League final and Kaiserslautern in the German Cup final next Saturday.
