NETBALL: Super League winners Manchester Thunder face runners up Loughborough Lightning in the Grand Final tomorrow afternoon. The Lightning are seeking back-to-back titles while Manchester aim to match Team Bath’s record haul of five championships. Manchester lost only one game all season, to Loughborough back in March. The final will be preceded by the third/fourth play-off between the Severn Stars and London Pulse.
MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: France celebrates 90 years of Rugby League tomorrow with a double header for its men’s and women’s teams against England in Toulouse. 14 of the French men’s squad play in the Super League for Catalans Dragons. England’s men are without any of the players currently plying their trade in Australia and have named six uncapped squad members including Wigan hooker Brad O’Neill and St Helens prop George Delaney.
SPEEDWAY: Chris Holder bagged 13+1 points and brother Jack added another 11+1 as Sheffield thumped King’s Lynn 54-36 to overturn a 10-point first leg deficit and reach the final of the Premiership Knock-Out Cup. In Thursday night’s Premiership action Emil Sayfutdinov continued his superb form with 12 points as table-topping Ipswich preserved the league’s only unbeaten home record with a comfortable 53-37 win over Oxford.
MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The Under 20s World Championships kick off in South Africa tomorrow with defending champions France taking on Spain in Group A as England begin their Group C campaign against Argentina. The French are seeking a fourth consecutive title while England have not won the tournament since 2016. Wales face New Zealand in Group A, Ireland meet Italy and Australia play Georgia in Group B and South Africa are up against Fiji in Group C.
