MEN’S CRICKET: Scotland were bowled out for 169 in a six-wicket defeat to the United States in their World Cup League Two clash in Nepal. Mark Watt top-scored with 66 from number seven, but six team-mates fell for single figures. The USA chased down the target inside 28 overs, with Jack Jarvis, Oliver Davidson and Michael Leask taking a wicket apiece. The defeat sees Scotland slip behind the US at the top of the table.

FORMULA ONE: The F1 season resumes in Canada this weekend as Mercedes look to continue their streak of winning every race. Kimi Antonelli has claimed three wins in a row to lead the championship by 20 points from team-mate George Russell. Lewis Hamilton will be searching for a strong finish in the Ferrari after landing a podium spot in China earlier this season. The sole practice session will begin at 5.30pm BST tomorrow.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Congo’s national team have cancelled a three-day World Cup preparation training camp and a planned farewell to fans in the capital Kinshasa because of an outbreak of Ebola in the east of the country. Preparations will take place elsewhere after an outbreak of a rare type of Ebola known as Bundibugyo, which is thought to have killed more than 130 people and caused nearly 600 suspected cases.

HORSE RACING: Dancing Gemini is set to step up in trip for his next start after returning to form in Saturday’s Lockinge at Newbury. The son of Camelot was beaten just a neck in the same race last year, having previously won the Doncaster Mile and Sandown Mile. His Sandown success remains his last victory, but after a few underwhelming runs he showed renewed promise when finishing fourth, beaten only three lengths.
