NETBALL: Loughborough Lightning cruised to a 76-60 win at bottom-of-the-table Birmingham Panthers to open up a three-point lead at the top of the Super League after London Pulse lost 64-52 at Manchester Thunder, who moved up to second. 

Georgia Rowe hit 45 goals as the Dragons edged out Leeds 68-62 at the Liverpool Arena and Rolene Streutker top-scored with 26 as Nottingham Forest beat London Mavericks 57-49.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Millwall host Hull in their English Championship play-off semi-final second leg tonight with the teams level at 0-0. 

If the aggregate scores remain tied after 90 minutes there will be extra time and penalties if necessary. 

The winners will face either Middlesbrough or Southampton, who also drew their first leg 0-0, for a chance to play in the Premier League. 

Millwall finished 10 points clear of Hull during the regular season.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Glasgow moved a point clear in the United Rugby Championship after they eased past Cardiff 40-17 and second-placed Cape Town needed a last-minute penalty try to draw 38-38 at Ulster. 

Leinster in third beat Johannesburg 31-7, Edinburgh won 24-15 at the Dragons and Ospreys edged Scarlets 27-20. 

Bottom-of-the-table Zebre went down 54-19 in Pretoria, Durban thumped Treviso 46-7 and Connacht saw off Munster 26-7.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: National Conference table-toppers West Hull maintained the competition’s only 100 per cent record with a narrow 20-18 win over Thatto Heath. 

Hunslet remain second after brushing aside Wigan St Judes 26-0, and defending champions Siddal stayed third with a 26-10 win over Lock Lane. 

Wath Brow thrashed bottom-of-the-table Rochdale Mayfield 44-0, Waterhead beat Heworth 36-16 and West Bowling edged York Acorn 22-18.
