MEN’S FOOTBALL: Nottingham Forest, the lowest ranked club left in the tournament, host Aston Villa in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday evening.

Freiburg visit 2011 runners-up Sporting Braga in the other last four clash.

Thursday night’s Conference League semi-finals see Crystal Palace in Krakow to face Shakhtar Donetsk and Rayo Vallecano taking on former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior’s old club Strasbourg.


MEN’S BASKETBALL: Adam Mokoka scored with the last play of the game as Bourg-en-Bresse beat Istanbul’s Besiktas 73-71 on Tuesday evening to claim the EuroCup with a 2-0 series win.

Kevin Kokila top-scored with 18 points but Mokoka took the MVP award as Bourg-en-Bresse picked up the trophy for the first time.

They had finished as runners-up to Paris in 2024, while Besiktas had not previously reached the final.


MEN’S CRICKET: Bengaluru will move back to the top of the Indian Premier League on Thursday with victory at the Gujarat Titans.

Punjab Kings currently lead the table by a point, despite slipping to a six-wicket defeat against third-place Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Chasing Punjab’s 222-4, which included a 22-ball 62 not out from Marcus Stoinis, Donovan Ferreira smashed a rapid unbeaten 52 to steer them home with four balls to spare.

Out-of-form, injury-hit Wigan, who don’t play until Saturday’s game with Bradford, have received another setback with both Liam Marshall and Dayon Sambou ruled out for three months.
