THE Israeli military warned has residents of a large swathe of Lebanon to leave their homes, saying it intends to step up action against Hezbollah.
The latest escalation threat followed intensive Israeli attacks across the country throughout yesterday.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported the killing of three people during an Israeli strike on Aramoun, a town in the hills around six miles south of the capital Beirut.
The ministry also reported that eight people had been killed and 31 injured during an earlier Israeli attack on the Ramlet al-Baida area of Beirut’s waterfront.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) also reported the death of four other people during Israeli raids in southern Lebanon.
Two were killed and six wounded during an Israeli attack on Deir Antar in the Bint Jbeil district. The other two were killed when Israeli forces struck a four-storey building in the Maarakah-Tyre intersection, according to the NNA.
This followed several Hezbollah attacks on Israeli towns and military bases overnight, including a drone strike on the northern Ya’ara barracks and missile attacks on the Glilot base near Tel Aviv and the Atlit base near Haifa.
