BRITAIN’S communist have condemned the imperialist attack on Iran over the weekend.
The Communist Party said the military attack on Iran initiated by Israel and co-ordinated by the Trump administration “unleashes a new round in the series of ‘forever wars’” inflicted on the Middle East and west Asia by US imperialism since the 2001 war on Afghanistan.
It said that US President Donald Trump has “proved once again with his latest bellicose statements that he represents the same corporate war interests as his predecessors.”
“US imperialism and its colonial outpost in Israel is the greatest threat to world peace in the world today,” the statement said.
“So far, the UK government has not officially taken part in the latest US military adventure.
“The Communist Party calls for British ministers to make clear that this is a conflict precipitated by Israel and prepared by the Pentagon with no justification in law.”
The party is also demanding no British military support for the US attack, adding: “The UK military base at Akrotiri in Cyprus must not be used to fuel, service, or supply US military aircraft engaged in this illegal act of imperialist aggression.”
From nuclear bomb storage in the 1950s to surveillance flights over Gaza today, the Cyprus base has enabled seven decades of machinations so heinous that Starmer once blurted out ‘we can’t tell the world’ what goes on there, writes NUVPREET KALRA
