DARTS: Luke Littler beat Luke Humphries 6-5 to win his first World Masters title and picked up another £100,000 prize money in Milton Keynes on Sunday night.

The 19-year-old world champion averaged just under 105 and hit 13 180s in the final en route to his 11th major trophy.

He begins the defence of his Premier League title on Thursday when the first of its 17 rounds begin in Newcastle.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Barrow eased past bottom club Salford 38-4 to top the Championship on points difference, as second-placed Newcastle romped to a 54-6 win at Whitehaven.

Unbeaten clubs London saw off Oldham 25-8, Dewsbury edged Keighley 22-20 and Rochdale held off Workington 20-14.

Swinton are pointless after going down 24-28 against Goole, Widnes beat North Wales 28-14, Batley lost 10-28 in Halifax and Midlands squeezed past Doncaster 26-24.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Scotland and Ireland both made it through to the Twenty20 World Cup after the Scots beat USA by 41 runs on Sunday and Arlene Kelly took 4-7 as the Irish thumped Thailand by 56 runs.

Bangladesh and the Netherlands also qualified from the Super Six qualifier that was played in Nepal, with USA and Thailand missing out.

The 12 team World Cup will be held in England throughout June with the final at Old Trafford.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: It’s bottom against third bottom in the English Championship on Tuesday evening when Sheffield Wednesday visit Blackburn.

Wednesday have had 18 points deducted this season, lost their last seven games in all competitions, are without a goal in their last eight fixtures and sit 37 points adrift of safety.

Elsewhere, Tuesday night, in-form Hull host Watford, Ipswich are at Portsmouth and Sheffield United take on second-bottom Oxford.
