WOMEN’S BOXING: Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano retained her WBA and WBO featherweight titles with a convincing points win over American Reina Tellez in San Juan this morning. Serrano improved her record to 48 wins, one draw and four losses, three of which came against the now retired world lightweight champion Katie Taylor. On the undercard Texas-born Stephanie Han defeated compatriot Holly Holm to defend her WBA lightweight belt.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Duncan Weir scored a try and three conversions as a substitute in his last game for Glasgow as they stuffed Zebre 47-10 to move second in the United Rugby Championship. Ulster are third following their 28-3 win over Munster while table-topping Cape Town edged out Pretoria 13-8. Edinburgh held on for a 15-14 victory in Treviso, Leinster crushed Connacht 52-17 and Johannesburg scored a last minute try to overcome Durban 23-22.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Patrick Hoban scored six as Glentoran romped to a 7-0 win at Carrick, who had Reece Glendinning sent off in the first half. The Glens remain third in the Irish Premiership, nine points behind leaders Larne after they saw off second-placed Coleraine 3-0. Linfield thumped Bangor 6-1 and Crusaders earned a 2-0 victory over Dungannon. The games at Portadown and Ballymena were postponed due to icy conditions.

MEN’S CRICKET: Otago Volts visit Auckland Aces in New Zealand’s Twenty20 Super Smash tonight after tying their match with the Northern Brave this morning. Chasing 167 to win Scott Kuggeleijn smashed 34 from just 12 balls to bring the scores level. Table-topping Canterbury crushed the Central Stags by nine wickets on Saturday to remain the only team with 100 per cent record after their opening three games.
