WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Two second-half goals from Claudia Pina sealed a 3-0 win for Spain over Germany as they comfortably defended their Nations League title in front of a crowd over 55,000 at Athletic Madrid’s stadium on Tuesday night. 

Last week’s first leg had ended 0-0 in Kaiserslautern. 

France took third place in the tournament with a 2-2 draw after extra time against Sweden gave them a 4-3 aggregate victory. 

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Bologna continue the defence of their Coppa Italia title tomorrow evening when they take on Parma in a last-16 tie with tonight’s other fixture pitting Lazio against Serie A league leaders AC Milan. 

Canadian striker Jonathan David and second-half substitute Manuel Locatelli scored as 15-time winners Juventus cruised into the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Udinese in Turin on Tuesday.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander netted 38 points as defending NBA champions Oklahoma City won 124-112 at Golden State for their 13th straight victory. They have lost just one of their opening 22 games. 

Philadelphia saw off Washington 121-102, Toronto edged Portland 121-118,  Minnesota needed overtime to win at New Orleans, San Antonio beat Memphis 126-119 and Boston held off the New York Knicks 123-117. 

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Aberavon host Super Rygbi Cymru Trophy table-toppers Ebbw Vale at the Talbot Athletic ground tomorrow evening. 

Ebbw Vale lead second-placed Llandovery by three points with a game in hand and Carmarthen are a further 10 points back in third. 

Llandovery are up against defending champions Newport on Saturday while Carmarthen face struggling Bridgend. 

Bottom club Pontypool visit Swansea on Friday evening.
