Israeli troops kill two Palestinian teenagers in the occupied West Bank
Smoke rises as Israeli forces blow up the home of Abdul Karim Sanoubar in Nablus, West Bank, December 2, 2025

ISRAELI troops shot dead two Palestinian teenagers in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank today.

The first shooting took place in Hebron, where the Israelis killed Muhannad Tariq Muhammad al-Zughair.

Israel’s military said it shot Mr Zughair because he attempted to stab a soldier.

Mr Zughair, although injured by the Israelis, was able to flee the scene. But he was later found and shot dead inside a car. His body is now held by Israel.

The other killing took place in Ramallah, where Raslan Asmar was reportedly held down by soldiers before being shot while he was on the ground and left to bleed for hours.

The killings were the latest in the Palestinian territories, fuelling concerns that unrest could spill over and further undermine the so-called ceasefire that should have begun on October 11 in Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry said that more than 350 Palestinians have been killed across the territory by Israel since the beginning of the truce.

But at the same time as continuing to violate the ceasefire across Gaza, the Israeli military has continued to step up its activities in the occupied West Bank.

Israel says the offensive is aimed at rooting out militants. But Palestinians say scores of stone throwers, protesters and uninvolved civilians have been killed.

In recent weeks, Israeli settlers have stepped up attacks on Palestinian civilians. Palestinian assailants killed an Israeli man in a stabbing and car-ramming attack last month.

Today, Israeli forces demolished the home of Abdul Karim Sanoubar, a suspected Palestinian resistance fighter currently in detention who has been accused by Israel of planting bombs on buses in central Israel last February.

Troops evacuated 13 homes around the building in the city of Nablus and a plume of smoke billowed out after the home was destroyed.

Also today, Israel’s military launched another round of strikes on southern Lebanon, which has become an almost daily occurrence as Israel accuses the militant group Hezbollah of failing to disarm following a United States-brokered ceasefire last year that halted two months of war.

On Monday evening protesters gathered in front of the residence of the Israeli Prime Minister in Jerusalem following his request to be pardoned instead of continuing his corruption trial.

Protesters called for the prime minister to be brought to justice because Israel is not “a Trump protectorate,” referring to the US President Donald Trump’s request last month that Mr Netanyahu should be fully pardoned.
