Capita recognises PCS after Civil Service pension administrator strikes against predecessor

CAPITA PENSIONS SOLUTIONS has signed a recognition agreement with PCS union members who administer Civil Service Pensions schemes for 1.7 million workers.

Capita will take over the contract on Monday from MyCSP, which had faced months of strikes by its Liverpool and Cheadle-based staff over the issue since July.

PCS general secretary Fran Heathcote said: “The months of strike action taken by our members, working for MyCSP on the Civil Service Pensions contract, shows the importance and value that they place on having real union representation.

“We welcome the recognition agreement between PCS and Capita, which gives our members a real voice in the workplace. We look forward to working towards building a positive industrial relations environment, which is in the best interests of the successful administration of the pension scheme.”

Capita plc chief people officer Scott Hill said: “This agreement reflects our commitment to building a strong, positive relationship with PCS.”
