WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Six-time winners Spain are seeking their fourth consecutive title when they face France in Uefa’s Under 19s final in Rzeszow, Poland tomorrow evening.

Both teams needed extra time to win their semi-final clashes with the Spanish edging out Italy 2-0 before a late penalty from Melinda Mendy sealed France’s narrow 4-3 victory over Portugal.

Five-time winners France had previously lost in the semi-finals at the last four tournaments.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Table-topping Hull KR will be without the injured James Batchelor tomorrow evening when they get the chance to open up a six-point Super League lead with a win over Wakefield.

Second-placed Wigan, who lost 16-10 at Wakefield in the last round of matches, are not in action until Saturday when they visit Castleford.

Tonight’s other fixture sees third against fourth as Leigh visit Leeds.

MEN’S CRICKET: Nottingham top the County Championship Division One by just two points after they batted to a draw with Yorkshire at Trent Bridge on Wednesday and second-placed Surrey thumped bottom club Worcestershire by nine wickets.

All of the other matches ended without a winner as Warwickshire held on to draw with Somerset, Durham and Sussex ended in stalemate and Tom Westley scored an unbeaten 130 as Essex drew with Hampshire.

MEN’S BOXING: 39-year-old former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder fights little-known Tyrrell Herndon in Wichita, Kansas tonight.

Wilder held the WBC belt for five years before suffering his first ever loss to Tyson Fury in 2020. He has lost four of his last five bouts and not fought since last June.

Herndon has been defeated in five of his 29 professional fights but has not been in the ring for over a year.
