THE vice-chair of Disability Labour has urged the government to stop the demonisation and discrimination against the disabled community.

Eligibility for disability payments will be hit the hardest by welfare cuts announced in the Spring Statement, with more than three million people set to lose out and the number of people living in relative poverty rising by 250,000 to 14.5 million by 2029-30, analysis has shown.

In an open letter, retired trade unionist Catherine Maria McGuinness asked ministers why they became politicians.
