London Bridge chaos put down to privateers
RAIL union RMT pinned the blame yesterday for the chaos at London Bridge on a “catalogue of faults” with contractors working on the station’s £500 million redevelopment.
Passengers at the hub have been subject to dangerous overcrowding, delays and cancellations in recent weeks.
The union said its officials had identified poorly installed track and signalling layout, evidence of corners being cut on quality and Network Rail engineers left to correct contractor faults — all justified with “meaningless” computer models.
