Lula's words for Congress

BRAZIL’S barred presidential front-runner vowed to fight until the end for “the right of our country to dream again” in a message read out to TUC delegates yesterday.

Former president Luiz Inacio “Lula” da Silva, who was jailed on corruption charges widely held to be false, has been disqualified from running in this year’s presidential election.

In his memo he blasted the “parliamentary coup” that ousted his successor Dilma Rousseff, accusing the current government of wanting to create a “democracy without people.”
