A SOLDIER killed three police officers and a fellow soldier when he opened fire at a police station in south-eastern Iran today.

The shooting took place near the town of Bampour in Sistan and Baluchestan, a province where protests left at least 16 people dead last week.

It came during the seventh week of demonstrations against the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a young woman who had been arrested for allegedly breaking Iran’s strict female dress code.
