Starmer blasted over ‘shameful’ support for GPS tagging of refugees
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, during a Labour Party press conference at Nexus, University of Leeds, in Yorkshire. Picture date: Monday December 5, 2022.

LABOUR leader Sir Keir Starmer was slammed today for his “shameful” support of the proposed GPS tagging of asylum-seekers while they wait for their claims to be processed.

Sir Keir, who was a human rights lawyer, said that there was a case for making some asylum-seekers wear electronic tags that would track their movements through satellite.

The process is a Tory government initiative currently being piloted and prepared for expansion.
