Davos and democracy
ANDREW MURRAY casts a look, via the pages of the FT, at what the great and not-so-good have been concerned about at the elite Switzerland gathering
PRIVILEGE: The World Economic Forum took place in Davos from January 16-20

READERS have probably been anxiously awaiting news from Davos, where the global elite gather annually to discuss how to change the world while leaving everything precisely the same.

Just as German Social Democrats joined the Nazis in singing Deutschland Uber Alles, ANDREW MURRAY observes how Starmer tries to out-Farage Farage with anti-migrant policies — but evidence shows Reform voters come from Tories, not Labour, making this ploy morally bankrupt and politically pointless
