AN SNP minister has blamed college cuts on the recent teachers’ pay dispute settlement, sparking fury from unions.

Education minister Graeme Dey told Holyrood’s education committee that tens of millions in college cuts were required “principally” to pay the £89 million bill for settling the dispute with the nation’s schoolteachers.

EIS national organiser Stuart Brown called the remarks “cynical.”
