WOMEN’S DIVING: Great Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Grace Reid missed out on securing a medal in the women’s 3m springboard final today.

Just 13 days on from winning bronze in the synchronised event, a strong effort from Harper saw her finish fifth, while Reid had to settle for 10th.

China’s Chen Yiwen finished with gold, while Australia’s Maddison Keeney took silver.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Celtic captain Callum McGregor has retired from international football at the age of 31 after winning 63 Scotland caps.

The midfielder started all three matches in Euro 2024, his second European Championship finals with Steve Clarke’s team.

“I have made a decision which was very difficult, of course, but a decision which I feel is the right one at the right time,” he told Celtic’s website.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Emma Hayes says her journey from guiding Chelsea to the Women’s Super League title in May to standing on the brink of Olympic glory with the United States less than three months later has been a “whirlwind.”

Hayes, 47, has not even had time to unpack her old locker from Chelsea as she prepares to lead out the four-time Olympic champions for tomorrow’s final against Brazil at the Parc des Princes, looking to regain the title they last won at London 2012.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Moses Mbye landed a golden-point drop goal as St Helens leapfrogged Salford in the Super League with a dramatic 17-16 victory on Thursday night.

The two sides matched each other blow for blow in a hard-fought encounter but Mbye had the final say.

Saints outscored the Red Devils three tries to two but the accurate boot of Marc Sneyd, who landed four goals, ensured the visitors were always in contention.
