CND to protest plans to station US nuclear weapons at RAF Lakenheath before presidential election
Anti-nuclear protestors outside RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, October 1, 2006

THE Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) will hold another national mobilisation against plans to station US nuclear weapons in Britain at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, on Saturday.

It will be the fourth protest against the plans for upgrade works at the US-run air base for the storage of the new B61-12 guided nuclear bomb since they were revealed in 2022.

CND general secretary Kate Hudson said: “This demonstration is not just about local concerns; it resonates on a global scale, especially with the upcoming US presidential election.”
