UNITED STATES: Thousands of mostly women demonstrators took to the streets of Washington DC, New York City and Seattle on Saturday to protest against president-elect Donald Trump.

The People’s March — previously the Women’s March — was organised by a coalition of groups and came ahead of Mr Trump’s inauguration in the US capital tomorrow.

NIGERIA: A tanker exploded after crashing in the Suleja area of North Central Niger state of Nigeria on Saturday, killing 77 people and injuring another 25.
