WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Manchester City will face Chelsea in the Women’s English League Cup final after Mary Fowler scored twice, including a stoppage-time winner, to earn them a 2-1 win over defending champions Arsenal on Thursday evening. City’s Khadija Shaw missed the game as a result of receiving racist and misogynistic abuse on social media. Current Super League leaders Chelsea saw off West Ham 2-0 in the other semi-final.

DARTS: World number one Luke Humphries overwhelmed Chris Dobey 6-1 in the final to take the first round of this year’s Premier League of Darts in Belfast on Thursday night. Reigning champion Luke Littler posted the tournament’s highest average of just under 114 but lost his quarter-final 6-5 to seven-time trophy-holder Michael van Gerwen. Glasgow hosts the next leg of this 17 round marathon in five days time.

MEN’S BOXING: The 41-year-old Derek Chisora tops the bill when he takes on Sweden’s Otto Wallin in Saturday night’s non-title heavyweight scrap in Manchester. Wallin has only lost twice, to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, in 30 fights while Chisora has tasted defeat 13 times in 48 bouts. Unbeaten Commonwealth featherweight champion Masood Abdulah faces Zak Miller and Commonwealth light welterweight belt holder Jack Rafferty fights Kane Gardner on the undercard.
