Aberystwyth climbed off the bottom with a 4-1 win at Caernarfon, new basement-dwellers Briton Ferry lost 2-1 to Haverfordwest, Bala drew 0-0 with Connah’s Quay and Barry Town won 4-2 in Newtown.
MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE:
Wales warmed up for next week’s must-win World Cup 2026 qualifier against Serbia after coming from behind to beat Jamaica 22-16 in a rain-swept Neath on Tuesday evening.
Jamaica led 10-0 through tries from wingers Alex Young and Sheffield’s Ben Jones-Bishop before the Welsh, playing their first test match in almost two years, hit back with five tries of their own.
WOMEN’S CRICKET:
The first semi-final of the Twenty20 World Cup takes place tomorrow afternoon as six-time winners and defending champions Australia take on South Africa at the Dubai Stadium in a rematch of last year’s final.
The West Indies meet New Zealand in Sharjah tomorrow for the other last-four match. The Windies were the last team to beat Australia at the tournament when they won the trophy in 2016.
MEN’S FOOTBALL:
England’s under 21s followed up their 2-1 win over Ukraine, that sealed qualification to next year’s Euros in Slovakia, with a 7-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan at Bristol’s Ashton gate on Tuesday night.
The defending champions finished top of Group F after Ukraine lost again, 1-0 in Serbia. The Netherlands were the only team to qualify with a 100 per cent record after beating Sweden 3-0 in their final match.
