MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Argentina came from 17-0 down to edge out South Africa 29-28 and keep their chances of winning a first ever Rugby Championship alive.

The Springboks lead the tournament by five points with the teams meeting again in next week’s title decider at Mbombela.

New Zealand held off Australia 31-28 in the competition’s other fixture, condemning the Aussies to a second consecutive bottom-place finish.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Cordelia Griffith’s composed 57 from 68 balls led the Sunrisers to a 27 runs (DLS method) win over the South East Stars in Saturday’s rain-affected Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy final.

Alice Davison-Richards had top-scored with 93 for the Stars in their 212 all out with medium pacer Kate Coppack taking 4-27.

The trophy, which has only been contested for the last five years, will not continue next season.

SPEEDWAY: Ryan Douglas returns from injury to ride for Leicester tomorrow evening when they travel to Manchester for the first leg of the Premiership Grand final against Belle Vue.

The East Midlands team will however still be without Craig Cook, who has not recovered from a shoulder injury.

Belle Vue won the Premiership in 2022 and were runners-up in 2021 whereas Leicester are seeking their first title.
