MEN’S CRICKET: Paceman Jayden Seales took 5-20 as the West Indies skittled Pakistan for 120 to win the first test by 90 runs late on Tuesday night in Trinidad. 

Babar Azam’s unbeaten 58 and number 11 Muhammed Abbas with 23 were the only resistance, as Pakistan slipped to their fourth consecutive test defeat and 13th loss in 17 games. 

The second and final leg of this mini series starts in Port of Spain on Sunday.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: 35-year-old former Welsh international Gareth Anscombe has joined the Scarlets from French Top 14 club Bayonne. 

The Auckland-born fly half made five appearances for the All Blacks under-20s, before winning 37 caps for Wales. 

The Scarlets have also signed Welsh prop Corey Domachowski from Cardiff and Kiwi back-row forward Cullen Grace after finishing third bottom in last season’s United Rugby Championship.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES: The track cycling and para-track cycling schedule begins Thursday at Dalmarnock’s Chris Hoy velodrome with seven finals, including the women’s and men’s team pursuit and individual sprints. 

Australia topped the medals table four years ago in Birmingham with a tally of 18, including 11 golds, and they include six reigning champions in this year’s squad. There are no road or mountain bike races this year.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: The Super League’s bottom two clash tomorrow evening when Hull FC travel to Huddersfield to kick-start the latest round of fixtures. 

Huddersfield enjoyed only their third win of the season after squeezing past York 24-22 last week, while Hull FC are on a six-match losing run.
