THE leader of the Raise the Colours group has been charged with 14 offences, including racially aggravated harassment, threatening behaviour and assault.

Thames Valley Police announced charges yesterday against Ryan Bridge, who co-founded the group which raised St George’s and union jack flags across England.

From Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, 45-year-old Bridge is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 3 over actions which took place at the start of the year.

Police said they submitted a file to the Crown Prosecution Service after reviewing evidence which included witness accounts and video footage.

Mr Bridge was on bail after being arrested by Thames Valley police when he attended the Reform UK conference in Birmingham at the weekend.

Party leader Nigel Farage praised him and the Raise the Colours group on Saturday, saying: “What your campaign has done is wake up vast parts of this country.”

Mr Bridge previously denied any wrongdoing.
