Jones poised to join Inter from boyhood club Liverpool
NEW CHAPTER: Liverpool's Curtis Jones

BOYHOOD Liverpool fan Curtis Jones is nearing a move to Inter Milan, PA reported today.

Having joined the academy at under-nine level, the midfielder progressed through the ranks and won six trophies across 228 appearances for his hometown club.

Jones is now preparing for pastures new as a transfer from Liverpool to reigning Serie A champions Inter edges closer.

Inter had attempted to strike a deal during the January transfer window for Jones, who only made 28 starts in 49 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last term.

The midfielder would become the third England international to join Inter this summer after John Stones and Djed Spence headed to San Siro fresh from their World Cup exploits.

Jones will be hoping to kick-start his international career with a move to Italy.

Part of Thomas Tuchel’s first two camps as England boss, he has not added to his six caps since last June’s matches against Andorra and Senegal.

Andoni Iraola’s new-look Liverpool open their Premier League campaign at Newcastle on Sunday.
