UKRAINE: Russia fired more than 500 drones and two dozen missiles at Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian authorities said today.
It came as President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders continued talks to strengthen defences and revive stalled US-led peace efforts.
The attacks focused on civilian infrastructure, especially energy facilities, mainly in western and central Ukraine, and at least five people were wounded, according to the Ukrainian air force.
INDIA: Heavy rains and floods in Punjab, north India, have killed at least 30 people and affected more than 354,000, authorities said.
All 23 districts in the state were declared flood-hit as rivers and reservoirs swelled to near-danger levels.
About 20,000 people were evacuated to hundreds of relief camps, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann calling the floods the worst since 1988.
US: The House Oversight Committee has published 33,295 pages of documents from the federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, including flight logs, jail surveillance videos, court filings, audio recordings and emails.
Politicians from both parties said the files revealed little new information, raising questions about whether the Justice Department is withholding records.
Pressure is growing for more transparency, following a July statement that no “incriminating” Epstein client list exists.
PAKISTAN: A suicide bomber killed at least 13 people and wounded 30 outside a stadium in Quetta, Balochistan, on Tuesday night, as supporters left a nationalist party rally, officials said.
Police recovered the attacker’s body parts near a graveyard on the outskirts of the city.
A government hospital confirmed 13 deaths and dozens injured, some critically, and no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
