World in brief: August 26, 2024

CANADA: Ottawa joined in the United States economic attack on China by imposing a 100 per cent tariff on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also announced today that there will be a 25 per cent tariff on Chinese steel and aluminium.

He claimed the Chinese had “an unfair advantage in the global marketplace.”
